The Forest’s Secret Chapter 9

Chapter 9

The next day Angie felt baffled, she nearly thought that this was all a dream. But she quickly found Will’s number and that proved her wrong.

“Now, it’s time I start doing something to find that gem. I should try to find Heather again. I’ll ask her where was the last time the gem was seen. I was too surprised to do so yesterday,” she reasoned. And she had to do all this under the watchful eye of her parents!

“We are going to study some rare animals today!” said dad,” We just need to find the perfect spot.”

“I know!” chimed in Angela,” We, er, passed by a wonderful spot when we went to see the big tree.”
“Ok, lead the way!” encouraged mum. Angela was going to take them to the spot where she had spotted the fairy.

She thought she could remember well the place were she met Will.

“North, right, left, right, right, left,” she murmured.

Soon they had arrived. After a few minutes, Angie’s parents were so absorbed in their hobby that they barely took any notice of anything else.

“Heather!” Angie whispered.

A strong hand pulled her up to the nestling leaves of the tree which she was under. Heather’s glowing face stared directly at her.

Angie asked the question which had been burning inside of her,” Where did you last see the gem?”
The fairy snorted,” We’ve asked that question to ourselves a million times. We where having a ceremony where the power of flight is taken from a specific flower and placed inside the gem. Then the lights went off…,” Heather pulled back her tears of sadness,” The gem disappeared and we had no luck in finding it.”

“It must have been stolen, any enemies you know of?”

“Goblins, but we are hopeless at finding their hideout.”

“Wait, there are goblins too!”

“Yes, anyway, maybe you will have better luck in finding them. Here, this is a detailed map of the forest.

“Thanks!” Angie said and made her way back down the tree.

At that exact moment, Angie’s mum shouted,” Time to go!”

Wow, that was a close one!
