The Forest’s Secret Chapter 7

Time for chapter 7…

The curiosity was overwhelming, Angie had to do something so she made up her mind to wake up in the middle of the night, when the first rays of sunlight start showing. Everyone would be soundly asleep.

That night she slept with her clothes on. She didn’t set her alarm clock  since it might wake up her parents but instead she held her phone in her hand and set it to vibrate.

The next day, when her phone vibrated, she got up excitedly and got out of the window quietly ( The door made too much of a creaking sound) . It wasn’t a long way down, her foot could easily reach the ground.

Angie started walking soundly. Out of the blue, she felt someone tug at her shoulder.

“You desperately want to help us, don’t you? Come with me,” said a fairy with dark purple eyes and pink hair pulled up neatly in two pigtails.

Heather, for that was the fairy’s name, pulled Angie up ( she was clearly very strong) inside the nestling, thick leaves of a tree since this was the safest place to start a discussion.

“We have lost a very important gem, a fiery orange one,” she whispered,” Fairies are born with wings but cannot yet fly. This is were the gem comes in. We use its power to give the strength of flight to newborn fairies. This ceremony takes place every blue moon which is ten days away. If we do not find it, future fairies will not fly.”
Angie was left speechless, she wanted to find out more but no words came out of her mouth.

With a snap of Heather’s fingers, Angela found herself back on solid ground, alone.

Blue moon, gem, strength of flight… Angie was confused but now it was time to go home.

“Wait, which way is home?” Angie cried.

She was lost.
